VA Disability Calculator 2026
Work out your combined rating with the VA’s own formula, then compare what today’s rating and a higher one would pay each month, with family members, SMC-K, multi-year totals and estimated back pay.
Combined VA Rating Calculator
Ratings aren’t simply totaled. The VA takes the largest one first, applies each next rating only to the share of you that remains, and rounds the result to the closest 10%. Tap each of your individual ratings.
For estimates only. The bilateral factor isn’t applied here, and the VA sets your actual rating.

Does your rating look too low?
Free Case ReviewAmounts follow the VA tables in effect from December 1, 2025, published at VA.gov: veteran compensation rates and SMC rates. SMC-K ($139.87 monthly) is added only once. Multi-year totals leave out future cost-of-living raises. The VA alone decides what you are paid.

Questions About VA Compensation
What is the monthly payment for a 100% VA rating in 2026?
At 100% with no dependents, the 2026 payment is $3,938.58 per month. Adding a spouse brings it to $4,158.17, and a spouse plus one child brings it to $4,318.99. These amounts apply from December 1, 2025.
What does a 70% rating pay each month?
Under the current table, a single veteran rated 70% receives $1,808.45 monthly; with a spouse, $1,961.45.
What do 10% and 20% ratings pay?
A 10% rating is worth $180.42 a month and a 20% rating $356.66. At these two levels the amount is the same whether or not you have a family.
When do a spouse and children raise my payment?
Dependents start counting at a combined 30%. From that point, a spouse, minor children, children 18–24 in school, dependent parents and a spouse needing Aid and Attendance each add to the monthly amount.
What is SMC-K and how much is it?
SMC-K is a fixed Special Monthly Compensation payment of $139.87 a month, added to your regular award when a service-connected condition causes loss of use of a creative organ or a limb, such as erectile dysfunction secondary to another rated condition.
How does this page estimate back pay?
It multiplies the monthly gap between your potential and current payment by the number of months you pick. Real back pay runs from the effective date the VA assigns, so treat this as a ballpark, not a promise.
Will these amounts change next year?
Probably. Compensation is adjusted each December 1 to follow the Social Security cost-of-living increase. This page uses the 2026 table that took effect December 1, 2025.
